Set in the foothills of the Waianae Mountains and overlooking the Pacific, this Makaha Resort Golf Club is two miles from Makaha Beach, long popular with surfers. The resort’s 18-hole golf course, designed by William F. Bell in 1969 and covering 7,077 yards from tip to tip, has a USGA rating of 73.2. Both private and group lessons are offered, and facilities include a driving range, pro shop, and snack bar.

The main building, which has complimentary wireless Internet access, features a wraparound verandah and opens onto a sun deck and 3,600-square-foot outdoor pool. Downstairs is a hair salon and a game and exercise room with pool tables, treadmills, and stair machine; Hawaiian cultural activities, including lei-making, are offered in the lobby. Two tennis courts also are available. This Waianae resort has a restaurant, and the lounge hosts live music on weekends. Business facilities at the resort include meeting rooms for 70 people and banquet space for 200.
